Davinia Hamilton is an award-winning performer and writer.
She is the co-writer of the Untapped Award-winning Blanket Ban, a play about the abortion ban in Malta, in collaboration with Chalk Line Theatre. The play premiered at the Underbelly, at the Edinburgh Fringe 2022, and was later performed at the Southwark Playhouse in May 2023. It was published by Methuen Drama, and was an Offie Award finalist.
Her long poem, i cannot speak it but it comes, was published in December 2022 by Ede Books. She is a recent graduate of the Faber Academy’s Writing a Novel programme, under the tutelage of Nikesh Shukla. Her work-in-progress novel, Volta, was one of the winners of Spread The Word’s Feedback Opportunity with the prestigious literary agency YMU.
She is currently also working on a collection of short stories, as well as a new play.
Davinia trained at ArtsEd, and has attended performance workshops with Punchdrunk, Complicité, Clean Break, Coney, Philip Ridley and David Eldridge. She is currently a freelance performer at Bridge Command. For a full theatre resumé, visit her Spotlight page.
Originally from Malta, Davinia now lives and works in London. She holds a BA (Hons) in English and an M.Sc. in Digital Media, as well as an MA in Acting.
She is an Executive Committee Member of Abortion Rights, the UK’s national abortion rights campaign.
