Curve-friendly Christmas Outfits

Christmas time means tons of events. It can be a real hassle trying to figure out what you should be wearing to all your parties and meals, especially if you happen to be plus size and all you can see for miles are body con dresses *shudder*

Here’s a few outfits I picked out which will flatter all those curves AND which are comfy as well as cool.

Some lovely outfits there Davinia! I especially love the first red dress. I’ve never heard of mod though. Have you bought from them before?

Sarah! I bought a swimsuit from Modcloth at the start of summer. It was quite dear BUT it’s the best, most flattering swimsuit I’ve ever owned <3

While these are very cute outfits, I have to admit that I don’t really think any of them are all that appropriate for curvy women(unless we have have vastly different definitions of “curvy women”). Especially the last dress, any woman with curves would look outright awful in that dress, and when you go to any of the sites to look at more pictures of the outfits all of the women are thin. I am also incredibly annoyed that you included skinny jeans anywhere on this page. No woman with curves should ever wear skinny jeans, they never look good! They barely look good on the size 2 models that wear them.
I find this whole post disappointing.

Hi Lauria. Thanks for your feedback – your criticism is appreciated :)
As a curvy girl myself (UK size 18), however, I have to disagree with you. I have skinny jeans and, when worn well, they can be quite flattering. I also happen to have the last dress AND the penultimate dress (but in a different colour). I wear them often and regularly receive compliments for them.

Yes, it’s a pity all the models are thin, but that doesn’t mean these outfits can’t be inspiration for curvy ladies at a loss for what to wear.

At the end of the day, nobody knows our bodies better than we do. I compiled these outfits with my own body in mind; I appreciate there are different shapes within the concept of plus size. Still, I know a lot of plus size girls who would rock these outfits (I like to believe I’m one of them).

Nonetheless, thanks so much for checking out the blog. Happy holidays!
