I have fallen in love, hard. Absolutely head over heels. I’m in love with the Christian Dior Spring/Summer 2011 Haute Couture Collection. Designed by John Galliano (who is currently suspended as Dior’s head designer after he made anti-semitic remarks in Paris) who was inspired by René Gruau, the collection screams 1950s glamour. It is dark and dramatic and appeals to my theatrical side. It brings together elements of the put-together housewife, which there seems to be a bit of a fascination with recently, but turns the whole thing on its head, turning that wholesome image into one of a dark, dangerous femme fatale. The red/black pieces are smoking hot and every single look is all brought together by one of my favourite things in the world – red lipstick. And I LOVE the use of the obi belts to cinch in the waist. But I’ll stop now – you have a look at the clothes and fall in love with them for yourself.
